Christian Believer facilitated by Jim Galloway . . . This thirty-week study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith aims at presenting, explaining, and interpreting consensus Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church, with the goal of understanding. Coming to faithful understanding of the teaching of Christianity through Christian Believer begins with disciplined daily reading of Scripture and of the writings of early and modern church leaders. The process of understanding continues in weekly group discussion about the relation of Scripture, beliefs, and daily living.Christian Believer will begin Thursday, September 8th, 7:00 pm. Sign up by emailing Deb Allen. You can view a sample lesson here.

A Woman’s Walk With God by Elizabeth George . . . What will keep believers growing in fruitfulness in their walk with God? Elizabeth George, author of A Woman After God’s Own Heart, beautifully and practically leads readers to a deeper understanding of what it means to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. With a fresh look at “those gracious habits which the Holy Spirit produces in the Christian,” Liz helps readers discover the attitudes of love, joy and peace; the actions of patience, kindness and goodness; and the disciplines of faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Join this class for our regular weekly ladies’ study group on Wednesday mornings, 9:30 am, in room 101/103.

Walking With Jesus . . . For the next several weeks, our regular Monday night men’s study and Thursday night women’s study will join together for Walking With Jesus: Journey of Love and Transformation. Steve Taylor, the NC Conference Missions Director will be our facilitator. This study is built around two questions: How are we meeting Jesus in our world? and What does this mean for us in regards to those outside of our walls? The group will study scripture, recontextualizing it and applying it to our current day world. Join the group January 26th and following Thursdays at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary for this 8-10 week study.

Faith Leader . . . Faith Leader provides a 26-week small group process that will raise up new leaders in our congregation. Based on Biblical models of leadership and reclaiming spiritual practices from the Christian tradition, Faith Leader trains participants in discernment, both of their own call to ministry and the spiritual life of their particular congregation. As a result of this program, participants craft a new vision of spiritual leadership based on their spiritual gifts and their call from God to unique, spirit-filled ministries. Faith Leader will begin Tuesday, September 13th, 6:30 pm. Sign up by emailing Deb Allen.
