Youth and Children’s Choirs
Youth Choir
Soapstone Youth Choir is open to ALL youth, grades 6 – 12. The choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons during the school year from 4:30 – 5:00pm. The Youth Choir sings in worship 5 – 6 times throughout the year. New members are always welcome. Contact the Assistant Music Director, Andrea Turner, for more information.
Kids Rock
Kids Rock is Soapstone’s children’s music program open to all kids, 4 years old through fifth grade. At Kids Rock, children can participate in one of our children’s choirs. They rehearse on Sunday afternoons during the school year between 5:00 and 5:45 pm. Kids are welcome to join the program at any time during the year. The Children’s Choirs sing for worship services several times during the school year. They are divided into two choirs based on grade level, and each group rehearses and sings separately.
- Joyful Noise - 4 years old through First Grade
- Power of Praise – Second through Fifth Grades
In addition to singing for worship services, both choirs provide music for the Family Christmas Eve service. The 2nd through 5th graders participate in an annual Spring Musical presented in early May.
All the children have the opportunity to explore instrumental music or mission projects through the Kids Rock programs - KIDS ROCK RINGERS (2nd – 5th graders) and KIDS ON A MISSION (all ages) which meet from 5:45 – 6:30. See the Kids Rock Brochure or contact the Assistant Music Director, Andrea Turner, for more information.
