Children and Worship

We believe that worship belongs to God and that God calls all children (young and old) to worship together. Therefore, children are welcomed and encouraged to attend worship. Each week, a Children’s Story is told during the worship service; some children remain in worship for the entire service, and some (5 and under) go to the nursery following Children’s Story.
Our nursery ministry is designed so that parents may decide when their child is ready and able to stay for the entire hour. Worship notebooks are available for children age 3-6 and 7-12. Each notebook contains a bulletin based on the Gospel lesson for the week, a card for children to design for members who are sick and/or in need, and crayons or pencils. Bringing up children in the faith takes a lot of love and patience from the entire church family.  At Soapstone we are faithfully committed to this baptismal task.

Nursery Care

We provide three nurseries during both worship services: Infants- 20 months, Toddler/Twos (20-36 months), and Ages 3-5. The infant and toddler nurseries are also available during the Sunday School hour. Each nursery is staffed by a paid worker and Soapstone volunteers. As we welcome new faces to our nurseries, we also welcome new parent volunteers! For details, call the Children’s Ministries office.
